Rooney Urges Struggling Homeowners to Attend Free Workshops for Mortgage Assistance

Stuart, FL – Congressman Tom Rooney (R-Fla.) today advised struggling homeowners in South Florida to take advantage of an opportunity this month for free counseling and guidance to help reduce their monthly mortgage payments.  The event, hosted by the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), will take place in Miami from April 15-19.

“South Florida has been hit hard by the weak economy, and as a result it has some of the highest foreclosure rates in the country,” Rooney said.  “I hope homeowners in the area who are struggling to pay their mortgages will take advantage of this chance to negotiate more affordable monthly payments.”

Homeowners can sign up at www.NACA.com or call 888-499-6222.  In the weeks leading up to the event, NACA is offering workshops across South Florida to provide information and resources to assist at-risk homeowners who will seek a lower mortgage payment at NACA’s 24 hour Save-A-Thon in Miami. The next step for homeowners who attend these workshops will be to see a NACA counselor at the event in Miami.
