Rooney Statement on Weak April Jobs Report
Sebring, FL – U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney (FL-16) today issued the following statement on the weak April jobs report:
“American small businesses are facing high gas prices, costly new regulations, threats of higher taxes, and growing uncertainty about the future, and the Obama Administration’s policies are hurting them in each of these critical areas.
“My jobs plan would help small business create jobs by fixing our broken tax code, expanding American energy production, and getting rid of job-destroying regulations. My plan would help create jobs right away while giving some relief to Floridians who are suffering under higher costs of living due to the Administration’s anti-energy policies, which have resulted in gas prices near $4 per gallon in Florida.”
“The House has passed dozens of jobs bills that would help the private sector grow and create jobs. With job creation stalling and underemployment remaining above 18 percent, Senate Democrats need to stop dragging their feet and take action for American workers and small businesses.”
