10:00 AM-11:30 AM –Congressional Award Ceremony

WHAT:       Congressman Rooney will present 50 Gold, Silver and Bronze Congressional Award medals to students in the Treasure Coast area.  The Congressional Award is a public private partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiate, and service in America’s youth ages 14 to 23.  The program provides a unique opportunity for young people to set and achieve personally challenging goals that build character and foster community service, personal development, and citizenship.

12:00 PM-12:30 – Congressional Art Competition Announcement Ceremony

WHAT:       Congressman Rooney will welcome the five finalists from the 16th district to announce the winner of the Congressional Art Competition.  The winning piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol Building for the next year, and the winning artist will be    invited to a winners’ reception in Washington, DC.
