Rooney: Intelligence Authorization Bill Critical to American Security
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney (FL-16), a member of the House Intelligence and Armed Services Committees, today released the following statement on House passage of the Intelligence Authorization Act, H.R. 1892:
“Since 9/11, our intelligence community has done a remarkable job of keeping America safe from terrorist threats. The killing of Osama bin Laden is a clear example of the important work our intelligence agencies are doing behind the scenes every day.
“As we approach the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we’re reminded of the need for a strong, effective intelligence community to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again. The Intelligence Authorization Act approved by the House provides the men and women of our intelligence agencies with the tools and resources they need to keep Americans safe.”
